Wait, Try and Persists is an artwork created by Portuguese artist Patrícia Oliveira at the Santa Joana Museum in Portugal.

Textile and Ceramics Textile and Ceramics is an innovative system based on interwoven nets enclosed in ceramic clays stacked in horizontal and vertical bands. The main advantage of ceramic textiles is that they offer us an ancient material in a new format, improving standard manual installation.

Performare_Aveiro is a transdisciplinary project based on the practice of ceramics that investigates, deepens, approaches, and connects areas such as textile art, sculpture, and performance art. Through the creation of a sculptural installation, the aim is to explore public space and provoke thought in social space.

Using a site-specific methodology, sculptor Patrícia Oliveira will collaborate with a group of Aveiro inhabitants for three weeks to develop an intervention for a public space. This project takes the local heritage [the Tricanas, the clothing, the shawls] as a starting point for an investigative practice that began in 2021 during the first participation in the Aveiro International Artistic Ceramics Biennial.

Ceramic textiles created by artist Patrícia Oliveira can be used to "decorate" facades and explore new relationships with textile architecture. These applications demonstrate the opportunity for envisioning ceramic materials in industrialised systems. Installing tiled facades is similar to hanging curtains; in the case of lattice or light-transmitting facades, the fabric is very light: 40 kg/m2 or less, depending on the number of gaps.

Textile and Ceramics

Performare Aveiro
